Back Safely

I got back from Oberammergau safely Saturday Evening, Then on Sunday, I attended Sunday School, and then during church I taught 20+ 3-6 year olds in Children's Church. That is a LOT of children. I had one mom as a helper. It was crazy and chaotic in there, but the children liked the craft and I think they had fun. I have a slight cold. I have never really shook off being sick since before Christmas. I would be very grateful if you would pray that my cold goes away and STAYS away for good.
On Saturday I traveled 6 hours each direction to Oberammergau. Oberammergau is famous for its wood carvings, and my parents encouraged me to visit their if at all possible. It was a cold day there. The snow was deep, and it was hard even walking on the sidewalks without falling on the snow. I left at 6:35AM from Vilseck, and got back to Vilseck at 10:34PM. I had to change trains four times each direction. It was an adventure, it was beautiful there though and I had a wonderful time.
Here are some pictures from my time in Oberammergau. Enjoy.

I took this picture of a Lama from the window of the train on the way to Oberammergau

This looks like fun. A galloping horse and rider pulling a skier behind them in a race. Anyone want to try it at home? I saw this advertisement for this competition that was to be held the day after I was there.

The snow was very deep, they have so much that they pile it all up and carve faces into it

Pretty scenery from the bridge

  1. I'm glad you had a good time at Oberammergau. Your Mom & I attended the 'Passion Play' there in either 1980 or 1981.
