This is the Amburg Train Station
My treasure is behind me on the top of the hill
This is where I am hiking too
Over the driveway
Under the Bridge
Start up the hill
Keep walking up the hill
Up the sidewalk
Keep going up the hill and around a slight curve
I'm almost there right? Wrong!
Keep walking up the stairs
End of the stairs, now just up the cobbled pathway covered in snow and ice
Look you can finally see the Cathedral through the trees
A nun headed to the Cathedral for the service
Close enough to get a good picture
This is my real goal though, it is a restaurant next to the Cathedral, it has wonderful deserts, pretty cheap too.
The TREASURE!!!
The German name translated into English is Wind Bag, it is a HUGE cream puff.
It is GIGANTIC!
Nope I'll eat a little more
I'm stuffed
Done!
A side shot
A life size statue of the Apostle John
It is a beautiful view from the top of the hill, where the Cathedral is located, all of Amburg below, and snow covered fields in the distance
The hike to the top of the hill from the Train Station is about a half hour - 45 minute walk upwards, it is almost all uphill. However, you burn enough calories hiking up the hill, to be able to eat the HUGE cream puff (if you can finish it), without feeling guilty over eating it, (or attempting to eat it!). It was a good walk, and killed a couple of hours while I was waiting for the train back to Regensburg to arrive. I could only take a few pictures in the Cathedral because its service was about to start.
I'm sure the walk to the Cathedral would have even tired me. Thanks for keeping everyone updated.
