The National Museum of Wales is free to visitors. It is a multi-acreage place. They take old buildings down piece bye piece, numbering them the entire time, they they reconstruct them on the Museum land piece by piece. The longest building to reconstruct was the Church. It took almost 10years to reconstruct. When they were deconstructing it, they discovered paintings on the walls under the layers and layers of white wash. It was originally a Catholic Church, that was when the paintings were added. Then when it was converted to Protestant, they were white washed over, and forgotten about. They were painted because the common people were illiterate, and the paintings depicted Bible stories. When they reconstructed the church, at the museum, they repainted all the paintings.
